Research Topics and Working Areas

Carsten Schröder is Head of the Division of Applied Panel Data Analyses | Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) at DIW Berlin and Professor of Public Economics and Social Policy at Freie Universität Berlin. His main research interests are public economics and social policy, in particular, distributional economics, pension economics, and policy evaluation. He has published papers in the Journal of Public Economics, the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, the European Economic Review, the Scandinavian Journal of Economics, the Journal of Economic Inequality, etc.

Currently he is the head of the committee for social policy (AfS) at the Verein für Socialpolitik (VfS).
