For current master students in Economics

Become a part of our young and international team in the Climate Policy Department at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin)! We are offering several exciting opportunities to write your master thesis with us. Each thesis will be supported by an experienced researcher from the team, who will provide you with the opportunity to conduct research that informs policy debates.

Timing:

Ideally at the beginning of each semester. The next opportunity to start would be between March and May.

Requirements

• Enrolled in master degree program with economics focus / for individual projects political sciences. Students are themselves responsible for identifying thesis supervisors at their home university
• Prior knowledge or strong interest in climate and energy economics
• Fluency in English, German is an optional asset
• Regular presence (from every couple of days to up to full time) in the DIW office in Berlin to coordinate on topic and research
• Willingness and motivation to go the extra mile to translate thesis research also into policy reports and scientific publications
• Working in a young and international team
• Flexibility and the ability to work independently
• Methodological requirements depend on topic
